Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 06, 2015 — Seattle-based seafood restaurant Duke’s Chowder House has just announced that it will be providing complimentary small bowls of its Award-Winning New England Clam Chowder to all patrons on November 11th to celebrate International Chowder Day and in honor of all Veterans.

“Furthermore, we’re giving the Seattle Veteran’s Hospital a portion of the day’s proceeds to demonstrate our support for our military troops and their families,” commented restaurant Founder and Co-owner Duke Moscrip. “We are thrilled to be able to give back to the men and women in our military forces who have sacrificed so much for our country. We welcome Veterans, reserve and active military to join us in celebrating their commitment with free chowder,” adds John Moscrip, son and Co-owner of Duke’s.

Designated as International Chowder Day by Seattle’s Mayor back in 2008, this November 11th will mark Duke’s Chowder House’s 8th annual celebration. In light of the holiday, the highly renowned sustainable seafood restaurant will be giving out small bowls of its famous chowder free of charge to guests from open to close at all six of its locations (hours vary by location).

As in previous years, Duke’s will also be present at all six Duke’s Chowder House locations to meet Veterans and greet other guests to bring awareness to the Seattle Veteran’s Hospital, a part of the Puget Health Care System. Contact any of their six locations for Duke’s tour schedule.

“My father was a Veteran who served 35 years in the Navy. He was the original Duke. As a Navy pilot in World War II, he barely survived an airplane accident when he flew into a mountain in a thunderstorm during training in Phoenix, Arizona. Unfortunately, his co-pilot was not so lucky and did not survive. Veteran’s Hospitals got my father back to functioning normally. Thank God, and bless the doctors for helping him to heal.My heart goes out to each and every Veteran,” commented Duke.

The recipe for Duke’s Award-Winning Clam Chowder—which was passed down from his grandfather and then perfected by Duke and his highly-renowned Executive Chef, “Wild” Bill Ranniger—has won several awards throughout the years, including both the judges’ and people’s choice awards at the Seattle Chowder Cook-Off for three consecutive years.
